International departments may be part of a public or private institution; they are not a guarantee of every specialty or language.
Check the source of an appointment
Use official institution channels and the Shenzhen Government municipal hospital directory as starting points. The directory does not cover every private provider and is not a statement of partnership with IntersectionMed.
- Confirm the institution's full name, campus and official contact channel.
- Check that the department handles the type of consultation requested.
- Ask which identity documents and records are required.
- Ask how fees, receipts and follow-up contacts are provided.
Language and payment need separate confirmation
An English website does not establish that every department offers an English-speaking clinician. Check consultation interpretation, written reports and payment support separately.
If using insurance, ask the provider and insurer about direct billing, pre-authorization and the required documents. Do not assume a foreign insurance policy will be accepted.
